Total Kenya is a major partner and contributor of the Safe Way Right Way (SWRW) NGO promoting road safety along the Northern Corridor. It is also part of the National Road Safety Trust (a partnership of Kenya corporates and media promoting road safety awareness) and the International Roads
Assessment Programme (IRAP) which assesses, grades and seeks to improve the in-built safety design of highways.
Safety being a core value to Total, road safety receives particular attention due to the prevalence of road accidents in Kenya. The frequency of road traffic accidents and the resultant loss of lives is a cause for concern that needs concerted efforts from all stakeholders.
We have invested in continuous training of drivers and in technology, that allows us to monitor and manage their safety behaviour. Through regular interactions, best practices are shared widely with our transporters.
